African Association for Vertical Farming (AAVF)

The African Association for Vertical Farming (AAVF) is an internationally active non-profit organization comprised of individuals, companies, research institutions and universities that connect with interested parties all over the world to build a strong community in order to assist Africa in its quest for secure and sovereign food production. With its mission to improve food security by educating youth and women in Africa with innovative practices to alleviate Africa‘s growing population, urbanization and climate change challenges, the AAVF focuses on advancing the growth of urban agriculture in Africa while spreading awareness of sustainable approaches to developing modern agricultural practices. The Association centres on its Four Pillars: Agri Business; Agriculture, Education and Training; Research, Development and Technology; and Humanitarian Support (youth and women empowerment through sustainable agriculture).

All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN)

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria was founded in 2004 as the apex and umbrella body for Farmers and Commodity Associations in Nigeria. AFAN serves as a unifying force that brings Nigerian farmers together to work towards sustainable agricultural development. Over the years, AFAN has played a vital role in providing a platform for farmers to express their grievances and engage with policymakers to influence policies that affect them. The association has also provided training and capacity building programs that have helped farmers to improve their skills and knowledge, which in turn has increased their productivity and yields.

Botswana Farmers Association (BOFA)

Botswana Farmers Association was formed in 2017 to elevate the status of small holder farmers in the country by: strengthening the regional farmers association in Botswana through capacity building; alleviating poverty within communities; and stimulating agribusiness among small holders for commercial undertaking, contributing to improved income for farmers. BOFA’s goals include: building strategic network relationships with communities in which the commodity association are identified; lobbying for youth-friendly programs that will be launched in satellite school hubs; advocating for support for smallholder farmers through private and public partnerships; and collaborating with training institutions in sector specific workshops as well as general management services.
